Park Rules
All of our parks close at dusk,
except where stated. All Local Laws pertaining to our parks are listed
in Local Law #6-1973, which is available at our office.
All Town parks are for Clarkstown residents only with the exception of the following:
- The Davenport Preserve which was purchased with federal and state funds in 1974 is open to the general public.
- The Miniature Golf Course located at Germonds Park is open to the general public.
Ice Skating
Residents can ice skate at Kings Park in Congers. Ice is checked daily.
If conditions are safe, a green flag will be flown. If conditions are
unsafe, a red flag will be flown.
Fishing
Fishing is permitted in Town Lakes and Ponds. All prevailing laws
apply. You may want to try your luck at Congers Lake Memorial Park,
Congers; Kings Park, Congers; and Twin Ponds, Valley Cottage.
Picnic Shelter
The Group Picnic Shelter at Congers Lake/Germonds Park is available for
rental. The picnic area includes group grills and bathrooms and can
hold up to 75-100 people. Contact the Recreation and Parks Office for a
permit and fee informtion.
Program Closing
In case of inclement weather, cancellations will be announced on WRCR (1700 AM) and WHUD (100.7 FM).
