Supervisor Hoehmann, Town Board Appoints Elaine Apfelbaum as Superintendent of Clarkstown Recreation and Parks

(New City, NY) – Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann today announced the Town Board will vote  to appoint Elaine Apfelbaum, CPRP, as Superintendent of Clarkstown Recreation and Parks at the February 7th Town Board meeting.

“Elaine has been a long time public servant who tirelessly meets the recreational needs of the residents of Clarkstown,” said Supervisor George Hoehmann.  “I am confident she will excel in her new position as Superintendent and bring new ideas and programs to our Town.”

“I look forward to working with the residents of Clarkstown to provide the best recreational programs and facilities in the area,” said Superintendent Apfelbaum.  “I have some exciting new ideas that I can’t wait to implement.”

Ms. Apfelbaum has worked her way up through the Clarkstown Recreation and Parks department with increasing responsibilities over the last 35 years.  She has lived in New City for over 50 years graduating from Clarkstown schools and then Ithaca College.

Ms. Apfelbaum is an active member, and has been Past President, of both the NYS Recreation and Parks Society and the Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association. She also served on the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council for the National Recreation and Parks Society.
