Each year, the Town awards the Pride of Clarkstown Awards at a Town Board Meeting. The program is designed to recognize outstanding commercial properties, nominated by individuals and civic organizations for their efforts to beautify their properties and in turn the Town of Clarkstown.
The awards were conceived by former Councilman Ralph Mandia who formed the first committee of volunteers in 2005. The committee separates nominations by various categories. They visit every nominated site and meet many times to choose winners in each category. The program is an incentive for other property owners to create even more attractive commercial locations in the Town.
The following are committee members:
Pride of Clarkstown Committee Members
- Councilman George Hoehmann, Town Board Liaison
- Scott Milich, Chairman
- David Kaminski
- Dorie McMaster
- Irene Ryan
- Donald Ritch
- Shirley Washington
