On 5/15/13, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack attended a press conference with Senator Carlucci to ask Governor Cuomo to sign the Bi-State Watershed Commission bill that has already passed in the NY Senate and Assembly.

On May 9th, Supervisor Alex Gromack attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting for Title Boxing Club, a new health and fitness club, in Nanuet. The Supervisor is pictured with General Manager Zitaly Sapiro and Trainer Chris Rodriguez.

On May 7th, Supervisor Alex Gromack and the Town Board attended the Shops at Nanuet media event in which they announced 30 new stores. The Shops at Nanuet plans to open in October 2013.
 

On 5/7/13, Supervisor Gromack and the Town Board presented the Town's 2nd annual Environmental Excellence Award to Peggy Kurtz, and the VC Library for their contribution to environmental preservation, beautification and improvement within the Town.

On Sunday, 4/13/13, Supervisor Gromack, an Eagle Scout, attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Scouts Jon O'Neill (Cl. South High School), Matt DePaul and Colin Myers (both of Suffern High School). All three Scouts are from Troop 78 of Nanuet.

At the April 9, 2013 Town Board meeting, Supervisor Gromack and Councilmembers Hausner, Hoehmann, Lasker, and Borelli, presented Certificates of Merit to St. Augustine's 5th Grade Girls' Division CYO Basketball team for being State Champions.
 

On Friday, April 5, 2013, Supervisor Gromack and Councilman Borelli attended the grand opening of the new Advance Auto Parts, located in the Clarkstown Plaza on South Main Street in New City.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, Clarkstown Supervisor Alexander Gromack was the Guest Speaker at the Clarkstown Sunrise Rotary where he gave his State of the Town Address, as well as speaking about matters of interest to the Town.

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, Supervisor Gromack, an Eagle Scout, attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Anthony Mancino of Troop 29 in Congers. For his project, Scout Mancino built a 9/11 Memorial Garden at Congers Elementary School.
 

On Tuesday, 3/19/13, Supervisor Gromack and the Town of Clarkstown Fire Inspectors received a $1,197.00 grant from FM Global to purchase two digital cameras and accessories that will be used when performing fire investigations.

At the March 5, 2013 Clarkstown Town Board meeting during a Special Presentation, the Town Board presented Certificates of Merit to JT's Forty Something Softball League for being the 2012 League Champions.

During a Special Presentation at the March 5, 2013 Town Board meeting, the Town Board presented certificates to the Fall 2012, 45th graduating class of the Clarkstown Youth Court.
 

On Monday, February 25, 2013, Clarkstown Supervisor Alexander J. Gromack and Councilwoman Shirley Lasker, along with Police Chief Michael Sullivan, announced details of new speed board signs that were installed on North Broadway in Upper Nyack.

On Friday, February 15, 2013, Supervisor Gromack attended the Open House of the New City Chiropractic Center and presented them with a Certificate of Merit for 25 years of service to Rockland County.

On Tuesday, February 12, 2013, Supervisor Alexander Gromack attended Governor Andrew Cuomo's presentation at the Pascack Community Center, where he introduced the Governor and gave a brief synopsis on the Governor's accomplishments to date.
 

Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack and Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips attended a public hearing held by the Moreland Commission on Utility Storm Preparation and Response at SUNY Purchase on January 24, 2013.

On 6/10/12, Supervisor Gromack joined the WNLL in celebration of the 20th Ann'y of the Rockland County Challenger Little League, a program for developmentally and physically challenged youth, helping them to enjoy the full benefits of LL participation.

Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack was honored to participate as one of the relay torch runners for the JCC Torch Run on Sunday, June 10th.
 

On 5/15/12, the Clarkstown Town Board recognized Zachary Lipson for organizing a swimming fundraiser, Laps for Legs, and for his dedication to raising awareness about Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Zachary raised over $6000.00

During the 5/15/12 Town Board meeting, the Clarkstown Town Board had a special presentation to honor the 44th graduating class of the Clarkstown Youth Court.

On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Supervisor Gromack attended the West Nyack Little League ribbon cutting and Opening Day ceremony at Germonds Park.

On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Supervisor Gromack and many elected officials attended the New City Little League Opening Day ceremony at Zukor Park.

On 4/21/12, Supervisor Gromack presented The Nanuet Restaurant with a certificate for their 50th Anniversary of Business in Clarkstown. Supervisor Gromack presented to owner Mary Chamberlain and her daughters Mary Allison and Alyssa and Timothy Arlt.

On April 17th, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack presented Tom and Anna Nassisi with a certificate for their 75th wedding anniversary at the Congers II Senior Citizen Club at the Congers Community Center. The Nassisi's are longtime members of the club.

On 3/28/12, Cl. Supervisor Alex Gromack and the Town Board, along with John McDowell and Naomi Camilleri of the Rockland Farm Alliance, announced an amended agreement to allow the RFA to farm an additional seven acres on Cropsey Farm.

3/10/12 - Cl. Supervisor Alex Gromack attended the Eagle Court of Honor for Kevin Lowenwirth from Boy Scout Troop 97. Kevin's Eagle Leadership service project was to construct a garden, planters, and landscape cleaning at Laurel Plains Elementary School.
 

Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack and Michelle Curtis of Jawonio at the free shredding event held at Jawonio on February 25, 2012. The event was a huge success with hundreds of Clarkstown residents in attendance.

Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack participated in Lakewood Elementary School's Relax and Read Day on Friday, February 17th. Supervisor Gromack read to Mrs. Farsetta's first grade class.

At the 2/7/12 Town Board meeting, Supervisor Gromack and the Town Board awarded the 2011 Pride of Clarkstown Awards to 8 properties for making significant investments in their properties while upgrading the look of their business as well as the community.
 

During the February 7, 2012 Town Board meeting, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack and the Town Board had a special presentation in which they honored the 43rd graduating class of the Clarkstown Youth Court.

On January 24, the Clarkstown Town Board recognized the Valley Cottage Indians, Pop Warner Junior Midget Cheerleaders for winning the 2011 National Championship.

On Nov. 17, 2011, Cl. Supervisor Alex Gromack and Dennis Letson, Deputy Director of DEC, met with Ms. Jennifer Mazza's Environmental Systems and Socity class at Cl. South to discuss flood mitigation in the Town of Clarkstown.

On August 3, 2011, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack toured the Cropsey Community Farm with Rockland Farm Alliance President John McDowell and Naomi Camilleri, Executive Director.

Supervisor Gromack and the Town Board recognized St. Paul's CYO 5th grade girls basketball team for winning the CYO State Championship for the second year in a row. The team and their coach were honored at the June 14th Town Board meeting.

Supervisor Alex Gromack and the Town Board recognized the Clarkstown North High School Dance Team for winning the finals of the dance ensemble competition of the MSG Varsity Talent Show. The team and their coaches were honored at the 6/14 Town Board mtg.
 

On Tuesday, May 31, 2011, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Sean Flynn. For his project, Scout Flynn built a paddock for a mini horse called Chipmunk at the Children of Promise Stable in Nanuet.

Supervisor Gromack and the Town Board attended the ground breaking for the new West Nyack Little League Field on Dexter Field, located at Germonds Park in West Nyack.

On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, Supervisor Gromack participated in the annual "Parents as Reading Partners Dignitary Read Aloud Day" at Laurel Plains Elementary School. Supervisor Gromack read to Ms. Foster's Kindergarten Class.

On March 27, 2011 Supervisor Gromack attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Daniel Traum-Steinberg. For his project, Scout Traum-Steinberg built an outdoor learning/contemplative area for Beth Am Temple in Pearl River.

On 2/12/11, Supervisor Gromack attended the Eagle Court of Honor for Chris Rossi of Troop 79. Scout Rossi built a patio waiting area at the COPS Barn in Nanuet where autistic children ride horses to stimulate learning and interact with others.

On 2/11/11 Clarkstown Supervisor Gromack visited St. Anthony's Elementary School in Nanuet for their "Careers of the Past, Present, and Future" program to speak to Mrs. Lois Dorsey's 7th grade class and Ms. Fran Mastropietro's 8th grade class.

On 1/31/11 U.S. Senator Charles Schumer presented Chester Lubeck with the Purple Heart for injuries he suffered during WWII. Clarkstown Supervisor Gromack attended the ceremony held at the William DeBevoise Jr. American Legion Post 1682 in New City.
 

On 1/29/11 Supervisor Gromack and the Town of Clarkstown opened the new Congers Synthetic Ice Rink at Congers Lake Memorial Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

On 1/13/11 Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack and Town Clerk Justin Sweet visited with the Nanuet Senior Club at Pascack Community Center. Both are pictured with board members of the club and the Town's Senior Citizen Coordinator Rudy Damonti.

On, 1/9/11, Supervisor Gromack attended the Eagle Court of Honor for Scouts Karroum and Quinlan of Troop 79. Scout Karroum replaced the entrance sign to St. Francis of Assisi Church. Scout Quinlan repaired a front porch for one of the Camp Venture houses.
 

On Sunday, 1/2/11, Supervisor Gromack attended the Eagle Court of Honor for Scouts Leonard and Voce of Troop 29 (in blue). Scout Leonard's Eagle Project restored the Snyder Cemetery in V.C. and Scout Voce improved fire safety throughout Congers.

On September 21, the Town Board recognized Clarkstown Police Dispatcher Beverly Brooks for her outstanding performance on August 31st of helping save a child’s life.

On September 21, the Town Board recognized the New City Girls Softball All-stars for their achievement of winning District 18 champions.
 

On September 6th, Town Board members joined Amy Stern, Executive Director, United Hospice of Rockland for the ground breaking of the Joe Raso Hospice House on Buena Vista Road in New City.

Supervisor Alex Gromack and Councilwoman Shirley Lasker attended opening day for Star Kids clinic at the Palisades Ice Rink.

On May 7th, Supervisor Gromack helped Girl Scout Troop 40699 kick off their Walk-A-Thon at Congers Memorial Lake. The Troop organized the event for their bronze award project and raised over $600 for Haiti.

BOCES hosted their annual Earth Day event to showcase how green technology is applied on the Career Technology Education Center campus. Supervisor Gromack, Councilmembers Stephanie Hausner and George Hoehmann with Supt. MaryJean Marsico and Bill Popkave.
 

Supervisor Gromack and Councilman Frank Borelli attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new bathroom facility at New City Little League’s Strawtown Field with Lon Hofstein, President, and Steve Goudsmith from United Water.

The Town Board recognized and celebrated 100 years of scouting with local Boy Scouts.

Laurel Plains Elementary School invited Supervisor Gromack to their Parents as Reading Partners Dignitary Read Aloud Day on April 8th. Supervisor Gromack read Arthur Meets the President to Mrs. Gauzza’s second grade class.
 

On April 9, Supervisor Gromack, an Eagle Scout, met with Cub Scouts Ross Foothorap, Daniel Fitzgerald, Andrew Damo and leaders Dave Damo and Bill Fitzgerald of Pack 49, West Nyack for one of their cub scout badges.

The Town of Clarkstown recognized Officer Peter Walker with the Blue Star Flag and ceremony for his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is currently serving in Kuwait.
 

Supervisor Gromack attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Hudson City Bank, 228 So. Main Street, New City located in the DeCicco’s Marketplace in March 2010.

Supervisor Gromack, with John Raquet, Treasurer, Megan Raquet, and John McDowell, President, attended the Rockland Farm Alliance Pancake Breakfast on March 13 at the Rockland Country Day School in Congers.

The Town Board recognized West Nyack resident Gerard Mattimore for receiving the national volunteer of the year award for his work with the Easter Seals.

On March 6th, Supervisor Gromack and the Town Board kicked off “Community Weekend” at Model’s in the Palisades Mall. The Town worked with Model’s to organize the event to help raise funds for the five little league associations in the Town.

The Town Board recognized the Reflections winners from the Clarkstown School District.

On Saturday, February 6th, Regis and Joy Philbin visited the FYE store at the Palisades Mall to promote their first CD together. Supervisor Alex Gromack presented the Philbin’s with a proclamation from the Town of Clarkstown.

At the January 19th Town Board meeting, Supervisor Alex Gromack, Council members, and Highway Superintendent recognized the New City Rams Jr. Pee Wee Football team for winning the 2009 Empire State Classic Championship.
 

In January 2010, Supervisor Gromack joined the Congers Fire Department to congratulate Ex Fire Chief Chuck Brodil (pictured with his family) for his year of service as Chief.

Supervisor Gromack attended Eagle Scout AJ Hernandez’s Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, January 10th. For his Eagle Leadership Service Project, AJ built a sensory integration trail for the Children of Promise Stable in Nanuet.

Supervisor Gromack visits the site of the Virginia Street/Carolina Drive drainage improvement project in New City. The project will help alleviate adverse drainage conditions on Virginia Street and is expected to be complete by the end of November.
